Hunt 28 - Alone together

Hunt 28 is now done and dusted.  For the last couple of rounds I have been collating all the album links and posting them on my blog.  They can be found here along with my full album plus the two first place images that Penny received this round.  The image is my favourite from this round "Cosy"

Fallen

The last of the fallen leaves in our front drive.  Winter is here!

This was taken with my new mobile phone "Nokia 7.2" which is surprisingly good for a mid range phone.  I would go so far as to say it is actually more like a flagship.  The real bonus it runs the same Google Android experience that you get with a Pixel (even gets updates on the same schedule).  I was able to get mine for $450 as compared to my Pixel 3 which cost me $1049 at the same retailer.  The Nokia is the better phone.

12paof2020 - June assignment : Season

I have taken this months theme literally and give you winter.  Here in Melbourne it seems that the pigeons are taking over during lock down

Hunt 28 - Day 10 : Paper Abstract

Day 10 and the word is - Paper Abstract

What on earth is paper abstract was my first thought, on researching the theme I found it was all about light, shade and colour here is my attempt.  There are some excellent examples in the album mine is okay

The full paper abstract album can be found here.  Click through to see 111 interpretations of the word paper abstract

Hunt 28 - day 9 : White

Day 9 and the word is - White

The full white album can be found here.  Click through to see 120 interpretations of the word white

One of the key things with the scavenger hunt is that it is up to the individual to interpret each word.  This is how I see white...  With a splash of red :)

Hunt 28 - Day 8 : Keys

Day 8 and the word is - Keys

I think this is my weakest shot for this round.  An assortment of keys we have at home.  Most of them we never actually use

The full keys album can be found here.  Click through to see 120 interpretations of the word keys

Word of the day - Sleep

A scene from the movie "A Beautiful Request" directed by Robert Chuter.  Pictured is Phoebe Jakober who plays Salome in the movie on set at Mission to Seamen in Melbourne

Hunt 28 - day 7 : Shoe

Day 7 and the word is - Shoe

I really love my Dr. Martens.  These were only a couple of weeks old when I took this picture.  I liked them so much I have a second pair now as a spare.

My comms cabinet at home. I do have a number of connections around the house. It is a byproduct of the work I do. Since I took this I added another Intel NUC for my VMWare training environment. Small box does a lot

Hunt 28 - Day 5 : Mirror

Day 5 and the word is - Mirror

The full mirror album can be found here.  Click through to see 114 interpretations of the word mirror

This is a surprisingly difficult effect to achieve as you need light on the face but not too much or you wash out the image. I had about 4 different light sources to get this.

Hunt 28 - Day 3 : Cosy

Day 3 and the word is - Cosy (Cozy as our friends in the US spell it)

The full cosy album can be found here.  Click through to see 125 interpretations of the word cosy

For this I wanted to gain a perspective like I have seen used in movies where they are looking down from the roof to a couple in bed.  This is a self portrait.  I strapped the camera to an overhead fan to achieve the top down look

Behind the scenes

This is a behind the scenes view of how I took an image for the current scavenger hunt.  Whatever it takes to get that unique viewpoint.  I am quite happy that this round I did not use Photoshop. The only editing was a small amount of cropping.  Image releases soon

The complexity of trees

Looking east from our house you can see this tree.  This is how it looks right now.  Start of winter and the tree is both bare and complex.

Mediocrity

Today I was in an email chain at work around the way they have been doing things and how laid back they had been with security.  In the process I added a throwaway line at the end of the email which may just be an original quote...

"To allow mediocrity is to be mediocre"

Google search says that I can claim it as mine :)

The associated image is the antithesis of mediocrity.  Determination.  This little guy was photographed at Kinglake about 10 minutes before the peleton arrived for the Herald Sun Tour in 2017

Word of the day - Books

In this case me in a book.  This was created for selfie Sunday back in the G+ days.  The theme this particular week was free choice so I asked Penny to set me a theme she said in a book.  This is the result.  It turns out that it is quite difficult to make something look like it is on a page and was always on a page.  I need a little more blur on the portrait

Word of the day - Art

This is what it is like in Melbourne today...

This image was drawn on the path leading to the Exhibition buildings here in Melbourne.  I cleaned it up in an editing package once I got home.  Original image 2018
