Speed

Updated my internet connection today...  Apparently a HFC connection can go quite fast if you let it

Aussie Broadband #FTW

If you want to sign up use the link.  I get $50 off my next bill and so do you

Even if you don't they provide an excellent service.  I have been with them for a couple of years now.  I can't fault them :)  I did the upgrade myself from their online portal and it just worked.

Word of the day - Leisure

This was from a vintage tennis shoot I was part of at Kooyong lawn tennis.  The former home of the Australian open.

Winter is coming

This is an image that I created back in 2017 for a scavenger hunt.  The word was winter and of course we were in the middle of a very hot Australian summer.  Sometimes you need to improvise.

The bear was drawn free hand and photographed then printed on a sheet of paper.  This was then scrunched up to add shadows and highlights.  It was then torn and laid out on a glass table to simulate icebergs

Word of the day - Moon

Just a sliver poking through the clouds at dawn from August last year

12paof2020 - May assignment : Silence

Tell me all the ways that I can welcome you.  You are looking at the sheds of  "Queen Victoria market" on market day. This was taken on the last day of April and shows the effects of lock down to an otherwise vibrant city

Cold and wet day around an empty Melbourne

Here is a series of images taken on a very cold and wet day in Melbourne.  As a photographer I find the being able to take images in strange times makes for very interesting subject matter.

Word of the day - Feet

There is no place like home edition :)

Firecracker

It is that time of the year when the tree in our front yard explodes in a riot of red, orange, yellow and green.  At least during lock down I don't have to go far for inspiration.

Fire

My latest artwork.  This was created from a stack of 20 odd images of the same tree all from different angles. I created this image using Affinity Photo by simply using the "New Stack" menu item.  I chose to not align the layers and a couple of minor tweaks and this was the result...

Alternate beer

For last nights beer o'clock shot I had an alternate version using the natural light of the setting sun through my office window (stained glass).  The light source for the other was a LumeCube with a diffuser.  Same time and camera placement with a different light source.  It is amazing the difference

I have this Lume Cube kit.  Very small but excellent lighting solution.  I don't remember how much I paid but it was a lot less than the price here

Beer o'clock

Here it is Friday after 5 and well it is beer o'clock...  Cheers

Thanks to Penny for pointing the lumecube in the right direction

The league of honest coffee

On my way to work on Thursday I took a wander past the Queen Victoria market and saw this scene.  It seems that every year there are more and more high rise towers encroaching on the market.  Almost like mushrooms

Word of the day - Maps

It is a risky business this thermonuclear war.  Especially when Jon is on the wine :)

Just another montage of CBD life

Rather than put these up one at a time here is another group of lockdown images. Enjoy
