Word of the day - Cheerful

Old Willunga hill

The second last day of the tour down under back in 2014.  Cadel Evans was expected to win at his final race as a professional cyclist.  We were 500 meters down the hill to watch as he went past in first place.  Here he is as he went past...

Note he is in the ochre leaders jersey as he was at the start of the day leader of the general classification.  Right here is where he lost the race.  He ended up in 6th place after being in first position with 500 metres to go.

The eventual winner was Richie Porte from Tasmania.  All in all it was a very cheerful day.  This is the crowd waiting to Cheer Richie and all the other jersey winners at the finish on Old Willunga hill

If you have never been to a top level pro cycling race I highly recommend it.  Entry fee is nil and you can get up close and personal with the stars of the sport

I ain’t 'fraid of no ghost

This image is a composite that was created for the theme of ghost.  The room is from the castle at Montsalvat in Eltham and the ghost is Penny with a sheet in a blended double exposure.  If I was to do it again I would put the ghost in a position where it should have been able to reflect in the mirror but isn't.  Everyone knows you can't see a ghost with a mirror....  Right!
